General Questions:
I'm not a Fleet Customer, can I still make a purchase through FleetPlans.com?
Yes. FleetPlans.com is open to all customers - Fleet, Government, Retail, etc. Whether you have 1 vehicle
or 1,000, we're here to answer your questions and meet your needs as it relates to extended vehicle coverage.
What type of coverage does FleetPlans.com offer? Are the plans "Manufacturer Backed" or are they "Dealer Backed?"
The only plans that FleetPlans.com offers are "Manufacturer Backed" plans. These are the exact same plans
that are available through the Manufacturer's Dealer Network.
How can I be sure that I'm getting a "Manufacturer Backed" plan?
As soon as your Service Contract is accepted by the Manufacturer, we'll send you a confirmation e-mail that
includes the Service Contract Identification Number. The e-mail will also contain a link to the Manufacturer's
website where you can input your Service Contract Identification Number and verify that it's on their system.
Additionally, a printed set of Plan Provisions will be sent from the Manufacturer via U.S. Mail within 30 days
of the Service Contract's Acceptance Date.
When does my coverage start? Do I have to wait for the Plan Provisions?
Your plan starts as soon as the Service Contract Application is accepted by the Manufacturer - there's no
need to wait for the printed Plan Provisions. The contract is active as soon as we send you the confirmation e-mail.
Are all Plans available on all vehicles?
No. In some cases plans are limited to certain states and in other instances plans are limited to certain
vehicles. If your Application is not accepted by the Manufacturer, you'll be issued an immediate refund.
Can I cancel the plan?
Yes. Plans are eligible for a 100% refund if they are canceled within the first 60 days on the contract's
acceptance and there are no paid or pending claims. Plans canceled after 60 day are refunded on a pro-rata basis.
Factory Backed Service Contracts:
What brand of Service Contract does FleetPlans.com offer?
Currently, FleetPlans.com offers Chrysler Service Contracts to all of our customers. As demand warrants,
FleetPlans.com will add other Manufacturer's Service Contracts.
Is the Chrysler Service Contract available for non-Chrysler vehicles, like a Ford, Toyota, Mercedes, Lexus, etc.?
Yes. Chrysler Service Contracts offers coverage for most Competitive Make vehicles as long as they have
been in-service for less than 48 months and have less than 48,000 miles.
If I purchase a Chrysler Service Contract on a Competitive Make Vehicle, do I have to take the vehicle
to a Chrysler Dealership for repairs?
No. Repairs can be performed using the Competitive Make's Dealership Network. The Dealership needs to
contact Chrysler Service Contracts before repairs are performed to verify coverage. Chrysler Service Contracts
then issues payment to the Dealership directly.
What types of Service Contracts are available?
Chrysler Service Contracts offers four levels of coverage:
- Powertrain Plans
- Powertrain Care Plus
- Added Care Plus
- Maximum Care
Which plan is right for my vehicle?
The answer is different for each customer. As a general rule, however, vehicles that are heavily optioned
are best suited for Maximum Care plans and vehicles with fewer options may benefit from the lower cost of
Added Care Plus plans.
What's the difference between the different types of Service Contracts?
In a word, it's coverage - the more expensive the plan the better the coverage.
The Powertrain Plans and the Added Care Plus Plans are "stated coverage" plans - that means the part is
covered only if it's listed in the Plan Provisions. If the part's not on the Plan Provisions, it's not covered.
Maximum Care Plans, by contrast, are "exclusionary" plans - that means all mechanical parts on the vehicle
are covered unless it is specifically stated in the Plan Provision that they are not covered.
What Plan Term should I select?
The answer is different for each customer. As a general rule, however, your goal should be to pick a plan
term so that both portions (time and mile) of the plan expire at the same time.
As an example, if you typically drive 10,000 miles per year and you plan to keep the vehicle for six years,
the best option would probably be a 6 year/60,000 mile plan or a 6 year/70,000 mile plan. You could purchase
a 100,000 mile plan for more money but it wouldn't provide you with any value - your plan will most likely
expire due to time.
By contrast, if you drive 25,000 miles per years and plan to keep your vehicle for four years, the best
option would probably be a 4 year/100,000 mile plan. You could purchase a longer term for more money but
it wouldn't provide you with any value - your plan will most likely expire due to mileage.
What Deductible should I select?
The answer is different for each customer. If you tend to visit your Dealership frequently and like to
get everything taken care of immediately, then the $0 Deductible is probably best for you.
By contrast, if you visit tend to go to the Dealership infrequently then the $100 Deductible may be better
for you. Chrysler Service Contracts charges the Deductible "per service visit" not "per item repaired" - if
you wait to get two or three items repaired at the same time, you'll only be charged with one Deductible.
The Plan Benefits list $35 First Day Rental - what does that provide?
First Day Rental Coverage provides you with a $35 Rental Car Allowance anytime your vehicle is at the
Dealership for Maintenance or Repair -
excluding Body Shop repairs.
The "First Day" statement means that you have coverage as soon as you arrive at the Dealership - there's no
need to wait for an overnight repair. Listed below are some examples:
- Your vehicle needs a Warranty repair or adjustment - you're covered
- Your vehicle needs to have a Recall repair performed - you're covered
- Your vehicle needs a Service Contract repair - you're covered
- Your vehicle needs Maintenance/Oil Change - you're covered
- Your vehicle needs to go to the Body Shop to get a dent repaired - you're NOT covered
Most Dealerships will provide a Rental Vehicle and bill Chrysler Service Contracts directly.
So I could schedule something as simple as an Oil Change and I'm still eligible for a First Day Rental?
Yes. With this coverage, it's possible that you will never see a Dealership Waiting Room again.
The Plan Benefits list $35 Day Car Rental Allowance - what does that provide?
This coverage kicks in if your vehicle needs to spend more than one day at the Dealership - it provides an
extra five days of Rental Car Allowance at the rate of $35 per day.
The Plan Benefits list $1,000 Trip Interruption Coverage - what does that provide?
Trip Interruption Coverage provides up to $1,000 for Meals, Lodging and Transportation if your vehicle
experiences a mechanical failure that is covered by the Factory Warranty or the Service Contract and the
vehicle is more than 100 miles away from the primary address.
The coverage provides you with options - you can elect to wait until the vehicle is repaired and use the
Lodging and Meals portion of the coverage or you can continue with your trip and purchase airline tickets or
rent a vehicle and use the Transportation portion of the coverage. You must contact Chrysler Service Contracts
when the failure occurs and submit receipts for reimbursement after repairs are performed.
The Plan Benefits list "$100 Sign and Go" Roadside Assistance - what does that provide?
The "$100 Sign and Go" Roadside Assistance provides coverage for Flat Tire Change, Lock-out Service, etc.
For more information about the coverage please see the FAQ section on Roadside Assistance.
Why do I need to use the "Request Quote" option - can't you just list what your pricing is?
FleetPlans.com has determined that there are too many variables to provide accurate Service Contract pricing
quotes without checking the vehicle's VIN information. There are surcharges on certain plans for vehicle that
have been in-service for more than 12 months or have more than 12,000 miles, other plans have surcharges for
vehicles equipped with Four Wheel Drive/All-Wheel Drive and there are plans that have surcharges for certain
types of vehicles. Finally, there are less expensive plans available for vehicles that may have been Factory
Certified at one point in time. Our goal is to provide you with reliable/accurate pricing information and we
need the vehicle's VIN number and current mileage to do that.
I already purchased a Service Contract at the Dealership and spent more money - can I cancel the plan I
already have and purchase one through FleetPlans.com?
Maybe. If the Service Contract you purchased from the Dealership is a "Brand X" Independent Service Contract
you can cancel that coverage after you complete your purchase with FleetPlans.com. FleetPlans.com will not, however,
engage in a transaction where a customer wants to cancel an existing Chrysler Service Contract and replace it with one
purchased from FleetPlans.com.
100% Money Back Service Contract Plan:
How does the 100% Money Back Service Contract work?
The 100% Money Back Service Contract provides a 100% Refund of your Service Contract if you meet the
following conditions:
- You still own the vehicle at the end of the time portion of the Service Contract coverage
- You have never had a claim for Service Contract Repairs or Diagnosis during the contract period
- You send your Refund Request to Chrysler Service Contracts within 90 days of the contract's expiration date
If I use the Rental Car Coverage or the Roadside Assistance Coverage, can I still claim for the refund?
Yes. You can still use the Rental Coverage and the Roadside Assistance Coverage without affecting your 100%
Money Back Refund.
Who honors the 100% Refund?
The refund is issued by Chrysler Service Contracts - there's no need to worry about a Dealer or Independent
Company going out of business before you're eligible for your refund.
What type of coverage does the 100% Money Back Service Contract Provide?
The plan is only available with Maximum Care Coverage.
Is this program for everyone?
No. If you know that you're not going to own the vehicle for the full term of the contract, the Money Back
refund offers no value. Further, if you're the type of person that's going to forget to process your claim within
the 90 day window, then this plan offers no value to you.
I'm afraid that I'm going to forget to process my refund request and miss my opportunity to get 100% back -
any ideas?
Some customers have used the Internet to locate e-mail reminder services that will send them an e-mail message
when the contract expires so they can determine if they are eligible for the 100% refund. The really sophisticated
customers develop a reminder system that sends them an e-mail and includes the Service Contract documents and the
Refund Request Form as scanned attachments.
Can Fleet Accounts participate in this program?
Yes. This plan is well-suited for Fleets that carefully manage their vehicles - you get the best of both
worlds - coverage if you need it and a full refund if you don't.
Can I purchase this plan for a Competitive Make Vehicle, like a Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc?
Yes. Plans are available for most Competitive Make Vehicles.
How can the Chrysler Service Contracts offer me a 100% refund and still allow me to use the Roadside
Assistance and Rental Coverage - they'd be losing money on the transaction?
It's all in the averages. A certain percentage of customers will sell/trade their vehicle before the
end of the term, another percentage will have a claim for a diagnosis/repair and a final percentage will
forget to process their claim. If you're a sophisticated customer that tends to own your vehicles for a
long period of time, this plan is a "no-brainer."
What happens if I'm one of those customers that sells/trades the vehicle mid-term - can I still get a
pro-rata refund?
Yes. The 100% Money Back Plans are still eligible for the same pro-rata refund that all of the other
plans are eligible for.
Lifetime Powertrain Plans:
What vehicles are eligible for this plan?
Most 2006 to current Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles with a Factory 3/36 Basic Warranty are eligible
for this plan. (Excluding Viper, all SRT Vehicles, Sprinter, Diesel
Equipped Vehicles, Ram Cab and Chassis Vehicles and vehicles used for police service, taxi, limousine,
postal delivery or ambulance service.)
Is this the same as the Lifetime Warranty that's currently being offered by Chrysler LLC?
It's similar, but it's not the same. By definition, a warranty is something that comes with a vehicle
at no extra charge. The Lifetime Powertrain Plan is sold as a Service Contract. The Lifetime Powertrain
Plan provides the same coverage and is backed by Chrysler LLC.
Are there any other differences between the Lifetime Warranty and this Lifetime Powertrain Plan?
Yes. Because the Lifetime Powertrain Plan is offered as a Service Contract it provides the following
benefits for the first 7 years or 100,000 miles:
- "$100 Sign and Go"  Roadside Assistance
- Flat Tire Change (With your good spare)
- Lock-out Service
- Jump-Start Service
- Out of Gas Assistance
- Towing Coverage
- $35 First Day Rental Coverage
- $35 Per Day Car Rental Allowance - Maximum of 5 days per occurrence
- $1,000 Trip Interruption Coverage
Can I transfer the Lifetime Powertrain Plan?
No. The only exception is for customers in the state of North Carolina.
Is the Lifetime Powertrain Plan available for Fleet Customers?
Yes. This plan is ideal for Fleets Accounts that either keep their vehicles for a long period of time
or accumulate a lot of mileage.
Are there any Service Contract upgrades available if I want more coverage than just Powertrain?
Yes. There is an entire list of plans that are available for customers that want to add coverage -
Added Care Plans, Maximum Care Plans, 100% Money Back Plans, etc.
Do these plans really provide Lifetime Coverage?
The Lifetime Powertrain Plan does not have an expiration based on time or miles. It does, however,
have a provision which indicates that the cost of the repair cannot exceed the retail value of the
vehicle at the time of the repair. As an example, the plan will provide coverage for a $4,000 engine
replacement in a vehicle that has a retail value $6,000 but it will not provide coverage for a $4,000
engine replacement for a vehicle that has a retail value of $3,000.
I've done a great deal of research on the Internet and no other website has mentioned that there is
a provision based on the expense of the repair and the retail value of the vehicle - are you sure that
this is correct?
Yes. FleetPlans.com is committed to full disclosure - we want to make sure that all of our customers
know exactly what they are purchasing so they can make intelligent decisions. The Lifetime Powertrain
Plan is an exceptional value - we don't see the need to "over-sell" it.
Roadside Assistance Coverage:
Is Roadside Assistance provided as part of the Service Contract coverage?
Yes. The Service Contracts and the Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Plan offered by FleetPlans.com

provides the following services:
- Flat Tire Change (With your good spare)
- Lock-out Service
- Jump-Start Service
- Out of Gas Assistance

than $100, you're fully covered. In fact, you'll never even see the bill - just

than $100, you are responsible for the amount in excess of $100.

If my car slides into a ditch, am I eligible for Towing Coverage?
No. Towing Coverage is only provided for situations where the vehicle is inoperable due to a mechanical
or electrical condition.
What happens if my spouse, friend, neighbor, etc. is driving my vehicle and needs Roadside Assistance?
They're covered - plan benefits are linked to the vehicle, not the driver.
My son/daughter is headed off to college; can I get a Roadside Assistance Plan for his/her vehicle?
Maybe - Roadside Assistance Plans are available for most 1997 to current vehicles with less than 80,000 miles.
Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Plan:
What is type of damage is considered to be "Road Hazard?"
Road Hazard coverage would be provided for damage caused by nails, glass, potholes, debris, etc.
What type of damage would not be covered?
Road Hazard coverage would NOT be provided for damaged that occurred due to an accident, striking a
curb, taking the vehicle off-road, intentional damage, etc.
I just upgraded to an expensive set of aftermarket tires and wheels, are they covered?
Most likely, the answer is yes. All of Chrysler Service Contract's Marketing Material indicates that
the plan coverage includes "Both Original Equipment (OEM) and After Market
Tires and Wheels."
The contract Plan Provisions state that "All eligible tires and wheels
must meet the approved manufacturer's specification guidelines."
If you are uncertain whether your tire and wheel package would be covered we suggest that you contact
Chrysler Service Contracts directly at 1-800-521-9922 before purchasing plan coverage.
How much is the deductible?
There's no deductible.
What's the maximum payment for a tire or wheel repair?
There is no maximum amount.
Are the tires "pro-rated" when a replacement claim is submitted?
No. The tires are covered 100% as long as they meet the minimum tread depth - 2/32" for cars and 4/32" for trucks.
I own something other than a Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge, can I still purchase this plan?
Yes. Although this plan is issued by Chrysler Service Contracts the actual services are performed by
Cross Country Motor Club. The brand of your vehicle does not affect the coverage or the processing of claims.
What happens if I need service?
If you need assistance, simply call Cross Country Motor Club at 1-800-521-2779 and they'll advise you
on how to get the tire/wheel repaired or replaced.

Does the plan cover the cost of mounting, balancing, valve stems and taxes?
Yes. All of those expenses are covered as part of a Road Hazard Claim.
What is my Tire Pressure Sensor is damaged as a result of a Road Hazard, is the part covered?
Yes. The Tire Pressure Sensor is covered as part of a Road Hazard Claim.
If my wheel is nicked or scraped as a result of a Road Hazard Condition, is it covered?
The plan will provide repair or replacement of the wheel only to the extent that it fails to seal with the tire.
Is Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Coverage included with every Service Contract?
No. The Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Plan stands on its own - if you want this coverage you need to add it
to your Service Contract.
Do I have to have a Service Contract to be eligible for Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Coverage?
No. The Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Plan is available as a stand-alone option. It's a great way to get the
benefits of Tire and Wheel Coverage and Roadside Assistance at a very low price.
